Jordi Raich Curcó –Barcelona, Spain, 1963– studied Biological Sciences at the University of Barcelona and International Law and International Relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He works in humanitarian aid since 1986 as project manager, researcher and consultant in epidemics, famines and, specially, armed conflicts. He has worked in Equatorial Guinea, Peru, El Salvador, Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Angola, Mozambique, Mauritania, Georgia, Guatemala, former-Zaire, former-Yugoslavia, Afghanistan –where he lived three years–, Pakistan, in the US Naval Base of Guantanamo –Cuba–, Washington, New York, Tajikistan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, The Sudan, South Sudan, Colombia, Panama, Honduras and Mexico.

In Spain he was the Director of External Relations of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and co-founder of Architects Without Borders. He is also associate researcher, specialized in humanitarian operations, law and ethics, of the Institute of Studies on Conflicts and Humanitarian Action (IECAH). He has worked as Protection Delegate and Head of Delegation for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Jordi Raich lectures in many masters, intervenes regularly in seminars, conferences, TV and radio programs, and publishes opinion editorials, features, and essays in daily, weekly and specialized press such as El País, La Vanguardia, El Mundo, El Correo, La Razón, Avui, El Punt, El País Semanal, Papeles de Cuestiones Internacionales, Altaïr, Ara, El Público and Courrier International. He is also a regular contributor at Catalunya Ràdio and www.eldebat.cat.
